PEACE THROUGH EDUCATION
The Gandhi Development Trust has viewed over the past years the increase in violence at school and tertiary level, and with that in mind the Trust has initiated a project to develop a syllabus for those in pre school and inculcates in learners peaceful methods and solutions to problems. It is hoped that starting with such education at an early age will assist the child find alternate solutions to problems rather than resorting to violence. The project has skilled researchers who have compiled the syllabus and has been tested in pilot pre schools with positive feedback.
The next step now is to make the syllabus available to all who want it and to also train teachers in utilizing these new concepts. This requires funds and as a Not for Profit Organization we rely on funding to assist us see our projects through. We have limited funding but will always welcome more so that this project can spread to as many pre schools as possible.
