60 YEARS OF INDIA’S INDEPENDENCE…
The Consul General of India has organized a series of events known as the INDIAN EXPERIENCE. Starting from 29 August until 28 September 2007, the month-long cultural festivities, organized in association with ‘Celebrate Durban’, includes a South Indian Film Festival, Food Festival, ‘Mrigaya’ World Music – Classical, Blues & Jazz Group, and an exclusive soiree entitled ‘In Conversation’ with Indian film star Sharmila Tagore at Supernova, Suncoast. These events saw huge crowds and were magnificent in nature. They showcased the enormous and diverse talents of the Indian continent. A true tribute to India.
A Puppet, Objects and Dance Show entitled ‘Images of Truth’ directed by world renowned puppeteer Dadi D. Padumjee, a world renowned artist, who has produced this show especially to mark Satyagraha anniversary will be shown in Chatsworth at the Puttudeen Hall at the Aryan Benevolent Home on 80 Arena park Drive, Chatsworth.
IN AN ATTEMPT TO RECOGNIZE AND PROMOTE KOLLYWOOD CINEMA (South Indian Movies), The Consulate General of Indian, Durban in collaboration with NuMetro @ Suncoast will be hosting South Africa’s first Tamil Film Festival.
