End to the spread of HIV/AIDS!
Uphold Human Rights, Children’s Rights and our Constitution!
These are calls that reverberate during the month of December. All over the country there are events ranging from marches to conferences and meetings and extended programmes of awareness on these topics.
The Gandhi Development Trust takes its awareness programme to the classroom and provides awareness on domestic violence, the Bill of Rights and HIV/ AIDS as well as providing skills training to deal with these issues. The escalation of abuse of young girls and teenage pregnancies is alarming as we see the growth of a generation of children with very little nurturing. Left unheeded this generation can pose a major problem for the country through sheer neglect and apathy.
Every patriot needs to take steps to help curb this trend now! Upholding Human and Children’s rights is an important step to take. We celebrate 20 years of our constitution. During this month we need to consider how we can once again make a commitment to the constitution.
