A Time to make a difference

The Jyothi Jivanam Movement of South Africa is proud to announce its 6th Hamper Distribution Function on the 4 November 2007 at the New West Secondary School Hall in Veldcastle Avenue, Castlehill, Newlands West. The movement has for the past 6 years been very successful in making a difference and adding value to lives of the underprivileged and all those associated with the movement, especially the youth and senior citizens. Since inception approximately 12000 food hampers have been distributed during the festival of Deepavali. The aim of the Movement this year is to hand out about 2000 hampers to nominated recipients who are needy. The guest of honour at this year’s function is Mr Ram Maharaj, a well respected political and community activist who continues to fight for justice, equality, and human rights. This Movement has over the years been graced with the presence of Councillor Logie Naidoo (Deputy Mayor.of Ethekwini Municipality), Captain Bala Naidoo (President – Natal Tamil Federation), Ellamma Cooper, Swami Premananda Puri and Billy Nair.
